Join SheLift for a 9 day trek to Machu Picchu with REI Adventures
Trip Length:
9 days
Group Size:
10
Difficulty Level:
3-4 (out of 5)
Overview:
Discover Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain with 9 epic days of active thrills, community connections and free time to roam.
Yeah, they’re on everybody’s bucket list. But few people experience them the way you will. Prepare for nonstop once-in-a-lifetime moments and “omg how is this real” scenery (plus about a million llamas). Join us on a freewheeling indie-style adventure in the Peruvian Andes and Sacred Valley. Designed for travelers aged 18-35 (but anyone over 18 can join). Think: culture, flavor, adventure, repeat. You’ll do most things together, like zipline over a jungle. Yet you’ll have time to do your own thing too.
Ruins or street market? Chicha or pisco sour? With lots of choices, large and small, you tailor your trip as we wander through natural and cultural highlights. Descend into a canyon to raft the rowdy Urubamba River. Reach Machu Picchu the multisport way (!). Level up your future dinner parties by learning traditional Peruvian cooking. Sleep at an REI Signature Camp high in the Andes, surrounded by mountain passes glowing with color. At every turn, your professionally trained local guides illuminate Peru with authenticity and contagious joy.

Accommodations
For 3 nights we will be staying at The National Ability Center / Bronfman Family Ranch Recreation & Education Center
The lodge will be our home base for most activities and gatherings. This is a private, two-story facility and includes 25 double occupancy rooms with private baths. SheLift will have the entire property to ourselves!
The building features a lobby and common gathering area as well as a kitchen and dining area. In 1996 an anonymous donor provided the National Ability Center with 26-acres of pristine land minutes from three world-class ski resorts and Main Street in Park City. As the culmination of the founders’ life-long vision, the National Ability Center is a place where there are no boundaries — a place for self-discovery, and a place where everyone can challenge their abilities to achieve their personal best.
